How do I add a property to track?
From your dashboard, paste the full Rightmove listing URL into the 'Track a property' field and click Add. PropertyTrack will immediately fetch the current details and begin monitoring it.
How often are properties checked?
Properties are automatically checked once per day at 6am. You can also trigger an instant check at any time by opening a property and clicking the 'Check now' button.
What changes does PropertyTrack detect?
We detect price changes, status changes (e.g. For Sale → Sold STC → Under Offer), listing removals, and when a removed listing reappears. We also track when the addedOrReduced text changes, which tells you when a price reduction has been recorded by the portal.
Will I get an email when something changes?
Yes — if instant alerts are enabled in your settings, you'll receive an email as soon as a change is detected during a check. You'll also receive a daily summary email each morning covering all your tracked properties.
Can I turn off emails?
Yes. Go to Settings and toggle instant alerts or the daily summary on or off independently.
Which property portals are supported?
PropertyTrack currently has built-in support for Rightmove, with basic support for Zoopla and other portals. Rightmove listings provide the richest data including bedrooms, property type, tenure, agent, and first listed date.
Why is the status showing as 'For Sale' when the property is Sold STC?
Rightmove sometimes takes time to update their pages, and they occasionally show conflicting information. PropertyTrack uses several detection methods to find the most reliable status, and will not downgrade a status (e.g. from Sold STC back to For Sale) to avoid false alerts.
What does 'days on market' mean?
This is calculated from the date the listing first appeared on Rightmove (its first visible date), not from when you started tracking it. Properties on the market for over 90 days are highlighted in amber.
Can I add notes to a property?
Yes — each property has a private notes section. These are only visible to you and are useful for keeping track of viewings, offers, or anything else relevant.
How do I delete a property?
Open the property page and scroll to the 'Danger zone' section at the bottom. Clicking Delete will permanently remove the property and all its associated events, snapshots, and notes.
Is my data secure?
Your data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
